The Vernon Company raised more than $24,500 for the United Way of Jasper County. This included a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $7,500) for all employee giving pledged during the three-day campaign period.
Employees at the Newton, Iowa, distributor were challenged by the Vernon Campaign Team to increase their pledges this year over last year by at least $5. Of the employees who pledged last year, 56 percent met this new challenge and were entered into a drawing. Once the campaign was finished, one name was drawn and a prize was given.
Chris Vernon, MAS, Vernon Company president and co-CEO, says, “I’m extremely proud of our 135+ Newton employees for their wonderful contributions to the United Way to help support local families in need. We believe that as the needs in the community continue to grow, Vernon employees will step-up to help out in any way possible.”
