As summer approaches and many prepare to enjoy the outdoors, the risk for ultraviolet or UV damage to the skin increases. Use sun safety awareness to your advantage by helping to protect your customers while promoting your business with products, like these:

Sunglasses

These are a popular promotional product for a reason – people will use them! These sunny day necessities are great for people of all ages. Pay special attention to the UV rating listed in the description, or, if not listed, don’t be afraid to ask, and remember the ability to block UV light is not dependent on the darkness of the sunglasses lens. Always choose sunglasses labeled as blocking 99-100% of UV rays. UV rating up to 400 is the same as 100% UV absorption.

Sunscreen

Don’t forget to protect your skin AND your lips with sunscreen and lip balm. Use an SPF of 15 or greater and make sure your sunscreen contains protection from both UVA and UVB rays. Check your local UV Index, which provides important information to help you plan your outdoor activities in ways that prevent overexposure to the sun. The UV Index forecast is issued each afternoon by the National Weather Service and Environmental Protection Agency.

Aloe

Over exposure to the sun can result in sunburns. The sun’s UV rays are strongest between 10:00am & 4:00pm, and sometimes when we’re out during those times, burns happen. Luckily, aloe gel is a great way to soothe sunburnt skin. It is important to note that sunburns increase your risk of developing skin cancer.

Caps

Caps are a great way to help protect your face from the sun and keep it out of your eyes! We have both domestic and custom options to choose from. For over two decades, we’ve partnered with the largest headwear manufacturer in the world to create one-of-a-kind caps. Our expert creative team and customer support staff in the U.S. works closely with our overseas manufacture to bring you the highest quality, uniquely crafted custom headwear to represent your brand.

Remember, sunburn doesn’t only happen in the summer! Wearing protective clothing can also be a great way to protect yourself from overexposure from the sun.
