United Way of Jasper County recently recognized The Vernon Company with the inaugural Champion of United Way Award.

During the organization’s 2015 Annual Meeting and awards celebration, Jessica Lowe, Executive Director for UWJC, presented the award to company representatives stating, “Vernon has gone above and beyond in its efforts to help United Way meet its goals, share its mission, and provide United Way with the tools, resources and volunteers necessary to make positive change in our community.”

Lowe explained that over the last five years, Vernon and its employees have raised nearly $97,000 for United Way of Jasper County. Additionally, Lowe shared the many ways the company and its employees supported the campaign:

  • Providing for on-site presentations to employees about the importance of UWJC
  • 86 employees donated more than $144 on average
  • 21 employees contributed to the campaign at the Leadership Level of $250 or more
  • Most recently, Vernon raised $24,131 for the UWJC campaign
